Science North Northern MedTalks

On Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 7 to 10 p.m., experience ten powerful stories of navigating healthcare, research, and life as a patient in Northern Ontario.

The event will be held in Science North’s Vale Cavern with a live broadcast to Eastlink Community Television and YouTube.

Hear from presenters with a variety of backgrounds and areas of expertise, including nursing, cardiology, rheumatology, public health, and more. While every story is unique, audiences will come away from the event with a deeper connection to their own health and will feel empowered to support healthier communities.

Truth and Beauty: The James Webb Space Telescope

The space telescope’s astrophotography is beautiful - almost unreal. However, the photos also contain information for groundbreaking knowledge. How do they work, and what do they mean? Please join us at the Doran Planetarium for a new live presentation about the art and science of JWST’s astrophotography.

This co-production is brought to you by the Doran Planetarium team, SNOLAB scientists, the Sudbury Astronomy Club, the Doran Planetarium Singers, and pianist Dr. Charlene Biggs.

Date: April 27, 2024, 2 - 3:30 p.m.
Location: Doran Planetarium, 51ÎÛÂþ
Free admission: first come, first served
Reservations: Hoi Cheu, hcheu@laurentian.ca
