The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible to oversee the 51 Biosafety Program and Procedures, provide policy direction, and recommend changes to the administration of the program.
Members of the IBC are appointed by senior management, and jointly with the Institutional Biosafety Officer (IBO), act in an advisory role reporting to the Biosafety Licence holder on matters pertaining to biosafety and biosecurity.
